We are all Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. We have all completed fellowships in subspecialty areas of orthopedic surgery, and this allows us each to focus on specific areas and enhance your orthopedic care. We treat all afflictions and conditions of the limbs, and have advanced training and expertise in the areas of:
- Throwing Injuries
- Foot and Ankle Reconstruction
- Arthroscopic Surgery
- Fracture Care
Most of our orthopedic care can be provided without the need for an operation, but when an operation is necessary, most are done in an outpatient setting. This allows the patient to go home the same day of the operation. We use the latest innovations and technologies, including camera scopes (arthroscopies) for minimally invasive surgery, and microsurgical techniques. We are supported by extensive Physical, Occupational and Hand Therapy staff and facilities, and are able to coordinate your care with them as needed.
What is orthopedics?
Orthopedics is the study of the musculoskeletal system. This system includes bones joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves.
What is an orthopedic surgeon?
An orthopedic surgeon restores functions through surgery, due to disease and injury, to the ligaments, tendons, joints, bones, nerves and muscles but also use physical, medical and rehabilitative methods when necessary.
What determines a good orthopedic surgeon and what criteria should I look for before I select an orthopedic surgeon?
Surgeons should be able to change when needed. This means that surgeons should have wide array of technical skills and be able to adapt or tailor his expertise to the patients he's handling or his community of practice.
Surgeons should be approachable and sympathetic to your needs. Patients strongly dislike any surgeon who treats them like they are inferior species of human beings.
He should be ready to answer any question from his patients and explain to them in a manner they can understand and relate. In this age of technological advances, not one patient wanted to be treated without having to know why and how his treated and what is his chances of recovering from the surgery.
